  • I brought my own waders, can I bring them inside to dry?

  • What should I wear to the ranch?

Summertime in the Rockies means lots of changing weather! Typically the day time ranges from 70-80 degrees in the summer and 50 degrees at night. The afternoons often have a quick 15 minute thunderstorm. With the high UV from the sun, we recommend you bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a rain jacket. In June and July, there are mosquitos by the river so we recommend long sleeves and pants along with bug repellent.

  • Can I bring my own alcohol?

Yes, feel free to bring your own alcohol and use it during dinner.

  • Can I smoke?

We  provide ashtrays for cigars/cigarettes on the porch of the lodge.

  • How far in advance should I book my trip?

The ranch has extremely high demand, and peak season dates generally fill many months or in some cases years in advance. While we will always do our best to accommodate last-minute bookings, it is highly recommended that you reach out several months in advance of your trip to reserve your dates. This is particularly important from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

    *no weddings at the ranch.

  • I have never been to 8000 feet in elevation, will the altitude affect me?

Staying hydrated and well-rested are the keys to preventing and mitigating the symptoms of altitude sickness at elevation. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your trip, especially on travel days. Be sure to get plenty of rest at nights and take breaks if excercising and do not push yourself too hard the first 2 days at the ranch. We recommend slowing down alcohol intake as the body needs to adjust to the altitiude in order to effectively process alcohol.
